Weave

I have never woven before but have always been curious about the way baskets are woven. The weave and warp that characterises these sort of craft is an area that I am looking into and I have experimented here with reclaimed cardboards cut into strips, then indented to create a deep recess. This is a larger version of a much smaller one that I did at first.

Here is the smaller version that I did first before deciding to see how it looks when its much bigger. It looks like an industrial mask.

The pleated paper is another point of interest that I was exploring. This could be an addition to a fashion accessory like shoes or bags. I like the way they look like the pleated ears of an animal.
