The sustainable footwear that started as an experiment into the use of cardboard spools to make shoes is now complete and it will feature in my exhibition “Waste to Glamour” (Part II) Starting on the 8th of December 2011 at my studio in Stratford, London. See above flyer for details.
Initial idea of a shoe using the modular spool has a heel. I collaborrated with Lois Fuller to redesign them so the shoes are very different from this image right now.
This is the flyer for my first solo exhibition. There will be finished products that are a result of my research into up-cycling discarded waste into functional items from fashion to interiors and just plain new materials for textiles.
